Abstract
Trachemys scripta Variation in the electroretinograms of the turtle with respect to wave form, stimulus intensity and spectral sensitivity are reported. In the dark-adapted eye, the ERG indicates maximal spectral sensitivity for long wave lengths. Data for one turtle in a discrimination box indicated maximal sensitivity at a shorter wave length. "These results are in agreement with the hypothesis that turtles possess both photopic and scotopic retinal mechanisms."
