ON THE PRESENCE OF RECENT INTRODUCED ALIEN FRESH WATER TOR-TOISES IN THE ISLAND OF MALLORCA. A first compilation about the presence of recent introduced fresh water tortoises in the island of Mallorca has been done. Five different taxa have been found, being Trachemys seripta elegans the widest distributed and abundant taxa. Chelydra serpentina, Chrysemys picta, Mauremys leprosa and Trachemys scripta scripta are the other taxa found. From all the taxa found not only Trachemys scripta elegans and Trachemys scripta scripta has confirmed the reproduction in the wild but also Mauremys leprosa.
