Abstract |
Useful DNA fragments for detecting hybrid individuals between freshwater turtle Mauremys japonica (Temminck & Schlegel, 1835) and Chinemys reevesii (Gray, 1831) were found by the technique of random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD). This method simplifies identification of turtle species, too, and may be helpful for preventing them from the gene pollution.
