Abstract |
Testudinidae A census conducted among owners of African Spurred tortoises Geochelone sulcata (Miller, 1779) in Rosso, Tiguent and Nouakchott, together with field studies in Southwestern Mauritania, established main collecllon localities, and enabled a distribution map to be prepared. Morphometic analyses indicated that Mauritanian tortoises were similar to those In Malian and Sudanian populations.
