Abstract |
On the basis of intermediacy in laminal seam disalignment and the greatest width of the foreleg stripe as expressed as a percentage of the dorsal stripe on the second central, a zone of intergradation exists between Chrysemys picta picta and C. p. dorsalis in Alabama. The zone of intergradation supports Bleakney's hypothesis of postglacial dispersal in these turtles.
