During the first two years of Pond Turtles Diseasc Monitoring Project groups of Trachemys scripta elegans abandoned in artificial and naturals ponds have been examined. All the analyses have been done at the Istituto zooprofìlattico sperimentale della Lombardia e dell'Emilia Romagna in Brescia. Observation, isolation and identifìcation of micro-organisms have been accomplished using standard procedures. Most of the microbic organisms were pathogenous opportunist that get into micro lesions and secondary infections from waters and ground germs.
