Testudinidae On 7th December 2007 five adult Arnold’s giant tortoises Aldabrachelys arnoldi were released at Grande Barbe, Silhouette Island, Seychelles. These represent the first Seychelles granitic island tortoises to be released into the wild and this is the first stage in establishing the endemic species in their original range.
