Abstract
When sending blood to the laboratory to be analysed, results of white cell count are usually noted as a percentage. Most of the times, however, more info could be obtained from the leukocyte smear. When done, changes in staining, structure and function from each white blood cell will contribute to the diagnosis. A summary of all the changes observed in lymphocytes, heterophils, eosinophils, azurophils and monocytes in different species of turtles, snakes and lizards will be presented. This will allow us to discuss the interpretative differences of these cells compared to that of mammals.
