Abstract     
Testudinidae This article names different reasons of scute anomalies in Testudo hermanni. After a short summary of anecdotal information I review the literature regarding known origins of scute anomalies which are incubation, heritage transmission and condition of the breeding pair. Furthermore I show different typical scute anomalies and combinations of scute anomalies with other deformations.
