The examinaton of 156 Trachemys scripta elegans specimens inhabiting an artifìcial pond in the Pelicrina urban park (Torino) showed that 55% of these animals bave shell pathologies, mainly SCUD and desquamation and 42% have eye pathologies. Head pathologies and traumas are less frequent.The most common pathologies resulti mainly from dietary deficiencies and environmental contamination.
