Abstract |
Sternotherus depressus Studies have indicated that the best populations of flattened musk turtles are found in Bankhead National Forest. Funds were allocated by Alabama Power and the U.S.D.A. Forest Service through the Nature Conservency to determine the status of these turtles in selected areas of Smith Lake and in specific areas affected by silvicultural improvements in the Bankhead National Forest. This report is an account of efforts in the Smith Lake study sites.
