Abstract     
Testudo hermanni Testudinidae
During the first stay in their outdoor enclosure six young tortoises ate branches of yew from the year before. Within one day all of them had signs of yew intoxication similar to mammals. Only two of the tortoises survived. The diagnosis was confirmed by finding yew needles in the stomach.
