Mauremys japonica Zusammenfassung: Die Haltung, Fütterung und Nachzucht der japanischen Sumpfschildkröte Mauremys japonica bei drei Haltern wird beschrieben. Bei zwei der Autoren schlüpften Jungtiere nach einer Inkubationszeit von 47 bis 52 Tagen. Über die Aufzucht der Jungtiere innerhalb der ersten 15 Monate wird berichtet. Ein Überblick über die Systematik wird gemacht. Abstract: Keeping and breeding of the Japanese Pond Turtle Mauremys japonica (TEMMINCK & SCHLEGEL, 1835), are described. Successful breeding was achieved by two of the authors. One keeps the sexes separately except in the mating season whereas the other keeps his breeding pair together throughout the year. Information on housing, feeding, courtship, copulation, egg deposition, and hatching of the young is also provided. Recommendation for raising of the hatchlings are given.
