Eight turtles (Trionyx sinensis) of 600-2000 g body weight were injected with antigen at 1 ml/turtle in July-September and November-April. Two control turtles were injected with saline. Antibody titres were 1:8, 1:64 and 1:128, respectively, at 20, 30 and 40 days after immunization in turtles immunized in July-September. Antibody titres remained at 1:128 in turtles immunized in November-April; they did not vary significantly, even when the turtles were injected twice.
