Abstract
Bell's hingeback tortoise, Kinixys belliana, is an African tortoise often imported for the pet trade. Despite large numbers of specimens entering the pet trade, successful long-term maintenance and captive breeding is rare. For successful maintenance, careful attention must be paid to their captive environment and diet. In addition, efforts must be made to eliminate parasitic infections and minimize stress.
