Clemmys insculpta Zusammenfassung: Drei Männchen und fünf Weibchen der Waldbachschildkröte Clemmys insculpta (LE CONTE, 1830) werden in einem Freilandterrarium von Mitte Februar bis Anfang Dezember gehalten. Elf Eiablagen, jeweils im Zeitraum vom 23. April bis 09. Juni, mit insgesamt 70 Eiern von vier Weibchen über vier Jahre wurden registriert. Vierzig Jungtiere schlüpften aus den neun Gelegen der letzen drei Jahre (nach 42 - 56 Tagen Brutzeit) Beschrieben wird die Aufzucht und Überwinterung von Jungtieren ohne Verluste über fünf Jahre, die Überwinterungstemperatur war in den ersten drei Winter höher als für die Adultttiere. Abstract: Three male and five female wood turtles Clemmys insculpta (LE CONTE, 1830) are kept in an outdoor enclosure from mid February till beginning December. During four years of observation, four of the females produced a total of eleven clutches (70 eggs) always in the period between April 23 and June 9. From nine clutches of the last three years, 40 turtles hatched after 42 - 56 Days of incubation. Breeding, rearing, and hibernating of the juveniles during five years are described, the hibernating temperature for the first three winters was higher than that for adults (10-14 against 2-6).
