Abstract
Chelydra serpentina
A study of movements of female snapping turtles in Algonquin Park, Ontario, Canada using radio-telemetry and mark-recapture techniques indicated the occurrence of an annual migration to nesting sites. Most females moved downstream to a nesting site but a few moved upstream. Some females travelled more than 0.5 km overland from one body of water to another. Maximum round trip distance traveled between home range and nesting site was 16.0 km (x̄ = 10.6 km).
