Abstract
Clemmys marmorata
Field studies of the pond turtle revealed several types of aggressive interactions. There is a correlation between the level of aggression and the number of movements of turtles on and off basking sites. Agonistic behavior seems to promote spacing and settle disputes over preferred sites.
