Abstract
The Yellow-blotched sawback turtle, Graptemys flavimaculata, is endemic to the Pascagoula River and limited tributaries of Mississippi, USA. Due to its highly restricted range, it is particularly vulnerable to habitat alteration due to both natural events and human activities. However, it is relatively easy to adapt to captivity and under proper conditions reproduces readily. This presentation outlines the specific conditions which perpetuate captive propagation, as well as their implications for conservation in captivity and in their natural habitat.
