Abstract     
Chrysemys picta Tested 12 aquatic turtles in 2 situations on a visual cliff. Results do not support findings of prior experimenters, thus indicating the possibility that contradictions in clues may be perceived by ss under conditions typically established in visual-cliff experiments.
