Karyotypic data are presented on four species of Pelusios and Pelomedusa. All specimens that were examined had the same diploid number (2N=34), and similar percentage arm lengths and morphology. These data are compared to that presented by other investigators on the other genus in this family, Podocnemis. Karyotypic trends are suggested based on these comparisons.
