Abstract
Chrysemys picta Turtles maintained on photoperiods of 8 and 16 hr (LD 8:16, LD 16:8) in which the light period is centered at noon EST and at constant temperatures of 10° and 20° C are more sensitive to temperature at certain hours. Animals acclimated to LD 16:8 at 20° C and LD 8:16 at 10° C had highest tolerances at 1400 hr; those acclimated to LD 16:8 at 10° C showed a phase-shift of -8 hr and those acclimated to LD 8:16 at 20° C a phase-shift of +4 hr with respect to the other acclimations.
