Abstract
Testudinidae hermanni Here I describe parasitological findings from tortoises, and in some cases also from turtles referring mainly to gastrointestinal findings, and the detection of Hexamita parva in the bladder. In addition to the findings, I also discuss findings obtained from free living tortoises (Testudo hercegovinensis) and discuss the consequences for the animals. In addition I refer to some observations on how tortoises may be capable of limiting their parasitic gut load under free living conditions and discuss the use of drugs.
