Abstract     
Testudinidae The aim of this preliminary study was to assess environmental well-being in reptiles using infrared thermography technique (IRT). Measurements were carried out during the last autumn visiting four terrariums in the provinces of Rome and Milan (Italy). The species analysed were: Elaphe guttata, Pogona vitticeps, Elaphe obsoleta, Lampropeltis, Iguana iguana, Ciclura nubila, Geochelone carbonaria, Geochelone sulcata, Geochelone pardalys, Python molurus, Boa constrictor, Testudo hermanni, Testudo graeca.
