The observation of a ghost crab catching and feeding on hatchling diamondback terrapin in the wild is the first record of an invertebrate predator on the terrapin. Ghost crabs readily fed on injured and dead hatchlings in captivity. The ghost crab and the terrapin are sympatric and syntopic. The ghost crab could be an important predator on hatchling terrapin.
