Abstract |
Testudinidae A group of 15 impressed tortoises (Manouria impressa) was transferred from the Chengdu Zoo in China to Zoo Atlanta. Two of the tortoises had severe gastric gravel impaction. Despite medical treatment for the gastric impaction, which included rehydration, oral administration of mineral oil, laxatone, and fluids, and mineral oil/water enemas, the impactions remained. Surgical intervention was required to relieve the impactions.
