Abstract |
A small amount of nutritive paste is pumped out of an easily accessible nipple protruding into the turtle's chamber. The advantages of this feeder over the feeding disk are (a) elimination of need for pretraining, (b) easier loading and larger capacity, (c) greater variation in the kind and quantity of reward, and (d) facilitation of the measurement of consummatory response. A diagram and description of the apparatus are presented.
