Abstract |
Latitudinal variation in reproduction has been well documented in turtles. Kinosternon subrubrum in particular shows considerable latitudinal variation in reproduction. Documented varation exists in at least three reproductive parameters: 1) Nesting season. 2) Clutches per year. 3) Incubation period. Only two reports have dealt with reproduction of K. subrubrum from east Texas. The purpose of this note is to present reproductive data for three Texas female K. subrubrum , and to comment on the reproductive cycle of this species in east Texas.
