Abstract |
Sacalia quadriocellata The methods of anatomy and histology were applied to study the changes in male sexual organ in 24 four eye-spotld turtles(Sacalia quadriocellata) in January(winter),March(spring),August(summer),and October(autumn). The results showed that the maximum testis mass in summer reduced gradually in autumn and reached minimum in spring. It appeared that seasonal changes in seminiferous tubule diameter and epithelial height were in accordance with testis weight. The histological observation of ductus deferns showed that.spermatozoa developed in summer and was most active in autumn.Sacalia quadriocellata mated and released spermatozoa in the same year.
